BELLINGHAM, WA – Dutch Bros Coffee could be making its way to Bellingham, as a pre-application has been submitted for a drive-thru location near the planned Chick-fil-A at Cordata Parkway and Bakerview Road. Filed on February 27, 2025, under Project Number PRE2025-0017, the proposal is currently in the early review stage with city planner Sara Ullman. Further approvals will be necessary before construction can begin.

Bellingham Metro News was the first news outlet to break the story after Gustafson & Associates, a Bellingham-based real estate appraiser group, shared the information on social media. The post revealed that Dutch Bros Coffee had a pre-application meeting for the drive-thru site at Cordata and Bakerview, sparking excitement among local coffee enthusiasts.

Dutch Bros is a publicly held drive-thru coffee chain headquartered in Grants Pass, Oregon. Founded in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma, the company has grown into a popular coffee brand known for its energetic service and wide variety of beverages. The majority of Dutch Bros locations operate as drive-thru stands, offering both coffee and non-coffee drinks, along with a selection of baked goods.

Bellingham Metro News also broke the news earlier this year of Washington Trust Bank also going into this Parcel. You can monitor the progress of the project by visiting eTrakit.

This development adds to the growing list of major brands expanding into the Bellingham area. Bellingham Metro News has consistently been the first to report on major business openings, from Texas Roadhouse on Guide Meridian to Trader Joe’s second location, Chick-fil-A Cordata, Taco Bell in Lynden, Carl’s Jr., Jamba, Cinnabon, Pizza Hut in Blaine, and Bordertown Mexican Grill in Bellingham, etc.
