BELLINGHAM, WA (BellinghamMetroNews.com) – It was a cold, rainy night in downtown Bellingham, with a light drizzle falling. The smell of bubble waffles filled the sidewalk along Commercial Street.
Passersby paused to take in the sweet aroma under the exhaust fan out front. Many stopped to ask if the shop was open yet, only to be disappointed when they heard, “No, not until March 1st.”
Inside, laughter and conversation filled the air. Invited guests and staff joked with one another, creating a lively atmosphere.
The chef was busy at work, crafting delicious desserts, while his wife took orders as they came in. The owner mingled with guests, sharing in the excitement.
This was the scene at Love From London’s soft opening on Friday, February 21, 2025. The winners of Bellingham Metro News’ giveaway leading up to the event wore smiles on their faces—until the desserts arrived, at which point their expressions turned to pure delight.
The owner shared stories about his journey to open the shop, explaining that his goal was to inspire his son to follow his dreams and believe he can achieve anything he sets his mind to. As with any new venture, there were challenges along the way.
At times, the journey was filled with heartache. From being told he needed an unnecessarily large exhaust fan for his waffle irons to facing hurdles over signage, the process was not without its struggles.
But overcoming those challenges led to the soft opening of this charming little London-themed getaway, right in the heart of Bellingham.
With décor reminiscent of London’s streets—including a red telephone booth in the corner—Love From London offers a delightful escape from the everyday. Benches provide cozy seating inside, creating an inviting space to gather and enjoy the experience.
The warm, comforting aroma of freshly made bubble waffles fills the air, making visitors feel at home. Though the staff is small, their hearts and humor are larger than life.
This establishment will make you feel both at home and as if you’ve stepped into London at the same time. If you’re looking for a unique adventure and some incredible desserts, this is the place to go.
The grand opening is set for Saturday, March 1, 2025. Stop by, say hello to the staff, and be sure to tell them Bellingham Metro News sent you!
