BELLINGHAM, WASHINGTON – In October 2020, Miracle Jones had no business plans or goals for staying in Whatcom County. She decided it was time to move back to her hometown of LA. Miracle posted on Britslist, hoping to achieve enough gas for the drive. Little did she know the requests would never stop coming.
She decided to start braiding out of her house, but that soon turned into a ”dollar and a dream.” After that, she opened her doors, to Miraculous Braidz, with a bright pink exterior in the heart of downtown Bellingham. When asked how she came up with her name, she responded, “It came from my name. I know it’s corny, but I asked my dad. He said to run with it, and it stuck.” Her business started with beauty from box braids, wigs, tooth gems, hair tinsel, and more.
Four and a half years later, the entrepreneur has taken her business from beauty to events. She has managed multiple returning events that you might have heard about out of her pocket, including The Juneteenth event, a Grinchmas Photoshoot, and an Easter Egg hunt. “I am trying to have an event for every holiday. It’s my passion to help out”. When you walk in her doors, you immediately feel like you have known her for years, and she won’t make you dress up or down for her as she wants it to feel like home. She is turning her pink shop into a venue for artists; tonight, February 14th, she is hosting an open mic poet night.
How can you help this fantastic black woman build more within the community? Donate to her website! Become a sponsor of one of her events. If you don’t have any funds, volunteer your time for her events. I am honored Miracle Jones sat down with me, and she chose to stay in Bellingham; I can’t wait to cover more events and see what the future holds for her.
