Nearly 2,000 Bellingham Customers Lose Power on Thanksgiving Day

Happening now in Bellingham, Close to two thousand Puget Sound Energy customers are without electricity this afternoon following an outage that began around 3:33 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. According to PSE’s outage map, approximately 1,952 customers are currently impacted as crews work to determine the cause.

As of the latest update at 4:05 p.m., the outage remains under investigation, with PSE listing the status as “assessing damage.” No cause has been identified yet, and no crew has been confirmed on-site as of the time of this report.

PSE has provided an estimated restoration time of 7:00 p.m., though restoration windows can change depending on the severity of the issue, the extent of damage, and conditions in the affected area. The outage is registered under ID INC1135065556.

Today’s interruption comes as residents across Whatcom County are preparing Thanksgiving dinners. Many households throughout Bellingham are currently relying on updates from the utility as they wait for service to return.
