BELLINGHAM — One of Seattle’s most recognizable Pike Place Market bakeries is officially coming to Bellingham.

Piroshky Piroshky, which first opened in 1992 and has become a staple at Pike Place Market, is set to open a new location inside Lummi Bay Market on Thursday, February 26. Doors are scheduled to open at 8 a.m., and the grand opening celebration will run through 6 p.m.

To mark the occasion, the bakery is offering a free piroshky with purchase during the opening day event.

The new location will be at 4839 Rural Avenue in Bellingham. For many Washington residents, the name Piroshky Piroshky is closely tied to trips to Seattle’s waterfront, where long lines often form outside its Pike Place storefront. The bakery is known for its wide selection of hand-held pastries, offering both savory and sweet options ranging from beef and cheese and smoked salmon to fruit-filled and dessert-style pastries.

Bringing the brand to Whatcom County gives local residents a chance to enjoy the same menu without making the drive south. The Lummi Bay Market site on Slater Road places the bakery in a convenient location accessible for customers from Bellingham, Lummi, Ferndale, and surrounding communities.

Grand openings for well-known Washington brands typically draw strong turnout, especially when there is a promotional offer involved. Those planning to attend Thursday’s event may want to arrive earlier in the day.

As always, Bellingham Metro News will continue covering new business openings and developments across the region.
