BELLINGHAM, WA – The Woods Coffee location at Boulevard Park temporarily closed Monday morning after a break-in, marking another incident in a string of crimes affecting businesses in the Fairhaven area.

The break-in, which reportedly occurred overnight, involved suspects shattering the glass on the western side of the café. Photos from the scene show a sign on the front entrance reading, “Temporarily Closed (someone broke in),” indicating the closure was not permanent. Another image captures the aftermath of the break-in, with shattered glass scattered outside the establishment and a handwritten warning reading “CAUTION BROKEN GLASS” posted near the damage. A broom and dustpan are seen nearby, suggesting cleanup efforts were already underway.

The café has since reopened, but the incident raises growing concerns about property crimes affecting businesses in and around Fairhaven. Local establishments have increasingly reported incidents of vandalism, burglary, and theft, prompting calls for enhanced security and police presence in the area.

Business owners in the area continue to urge authorities to take stronger measures to deter crime, including increased patrols and potential security enhancements. While Woods Coffee has resumed operations, the break-in underscores the challenges of property crime in one of Bellingham’s most visited areas.
