BELLINGHAM, WASHINGTON (BMN) – Downtown Bellingham is about to get a sprinkle of British charm as Love From London, a new London-themed dessert shop, prepares to open at 1301 Commercial Street, the former home of JoJo’s Doughnuts. The unique shop is the brainchild of a local entrepreneur inspired by a two-month journey through Scotland and England with their son.
The shop, set to specialize in bubble waffles, creative ice cream treats, and “low-key freak shakes,” promises to deliver desserts that delight both the palate and the senses.
But Love From London isn’t just about desserts—it’s an immersive experience. Visitors can expect to be transported to the streets of London with eye-catching décor, including:
- A giant wall mural featuring London-style benches and a vintage post light.
- An authentic English telephone booth with a functioning payphone and a daily “joke of the day.”
- A travel-inspired map showcasing the family’s UK journey, along with nods to British culture like Beefeater guards and London newspapers.
- Soccer matches playing on screens as guests enjoy their sweet creations.
The idea for the shop was born from the owner’s desire to share the magic of their travels with their hometown. “This is more than a dessert shop,” said the owner. “It’s a love letter to London and a way to bring that special experience to Bellingham.”
Adding to the charm, the city approved an exhaust system that will fill the streets with the enticing aroma of freshly made treats.
The shop is slated for a soft opening in about three weeks, with a grand opening planned for early to mid-December.
Locals and visitors alike are eagerly anticipating this addition to downtown Bellingham, and if the buzz is anything to go by, Love From London is poised to become a community favorite.
