Whidbey Island Prepares for Inaugural Culture Fest in 2025

Oak Harbor, WA – A new cultural celebration is set to debut in Oak Harbor next spring, promising to showcase the diverse heritage and traditions of Whidbey Island’s vibrant community. The inaugural Whidbey Island Culture Fest will take place May 3–4, 2025, along SE Pioneer Way in downtown Oak Harbor.

Organized by the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce, the two-day festival aims to highlight the stories, artistry, and culinary excellence of cultures from around the globe. Attendees can expect live performances of music, dance, and spoken word, as well as a cultural parade, handcrafted goods, and an array of traditional and innovative cuisines.

“This festival is more than just an event—it’s an opportunity to celebrate the traditions and diversity that make Whidbey Island so unique,” said Dannah McCullough, Executive Director of the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce.

Vendors Sought to Showcase Global Heritage

The Chamber is actively seeking vendors to participate in the festival. Organizers are particularly interested in:

• Food Vendors: Chefs, restaurants, and food trucks offering authentic dishes and ingredients from various cultural traditions.
• Artisans and Craftspeople: Creators of art, jewelry, textiles, and crafts that tell stories of heritage and identity.

Vendor applications are open now through February 16, 2025. Selected vendors will be notified after the application period closes.

A Community Celebration

The Whidbey Island Culture Fest promises to draw both local residents and visitors, thanks to an extensive promotional campaign. Organizers hope the event will become a cornerstone celebration for years to come, bringing people together to honor their shared and individual histories.
