U.S. – Washington, D.C. — In a significant move, former President Donald Trump announced that he would sign an executive order declassifying files related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and civil rights leader Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Trump made the announcement during a campaign event, emphasizing his commitment to transparency regarding the decades-old cases.
“Everything will be revealed,” Trump stated. “This has been a long time coming, and the American people deserve to know the truth.” According to his remarks, the files will be made available to the public and key stakeholders, including members of the Kennedy and King families. Trump specifically mentioned providing documents to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The announcement was part of a broader series of policy pledges, including initiatives to position the United States as a global leader in artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency. David Sacks, whom Trump introduced as a leading figure in AI, was present to discuss strategies to make America the “world capital” in artificial intelligence.
In addition to the declassification pledge, Trump voiced support for the recognition of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. “I love the Lumbee Tribe,” he remarked, calling it a major step forward in their long-standing pursuit of federal recognition.
Furthermore, Trump stated his intent to pardon 23 peaceful pro-life protesters who he claims were unfairly prosecuted by the Biden administration. “These individuals should not have been prosecuted,” he asserted, adding that some of the protesters were elderly and had faced unjust legal consequences.
Other key points discussed at the event included plans to establish a Presidential Advisory Commission on Science and Technology. The proposed commission would bring together leaders from government, the private sector, and academia to ensure American leadership in technological advancements.
The event concluded with Trump addressing questions from the press regarding topics such as judicial appointments and government spending. When asked about the possibility of using recess appointments, Trump said he would consider it if necessary to overcome legislative delays.
The proposed release of the JFK and MLK files is expected to reignite public interest in the historic assassinations and potentially shed new light on unanswered questions surrounding these pivotal events in American history. Trump assured that, if elected, his administration would prioritize the release of these documents in phases.
