It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sierra Rose Johnson, who left us on Friday, December 6th at 12:18 AM, surrounded by her loving family. Sierra was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her, always smiling, full of life, and known for her quick wit and sarcasm that could brighten the darkest of days.
Sierra had an immense love for animals, particularly horses. Her compassion for them was evident in everything she did, and it was no surprise that she found her calling as a veterinary assistant at Lynden Veterinary Hospital. She adored her work, and the people she worked with felt her passion and dedication every day. Her coworkers often spoke of her infectious energy, her love of taking on the most aggressive animals, and the way she made even the most difficult days a little easier.
Her laughter and joy were contagious, and her ability to make those around her feel loved and appreciated will never be forgotten. Sierra was a daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, friend, and a proud pet mom, but most importantly, she was a soul who brought happiness wherever she went. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever live on in the countless lives she touched.
Sierra is survived by her family, who were her rock and her biggest fans and greatest supporters. They were by her side until the very end, providing her with the love and comfort she so freely gave to others.
A celebration of Sierra’s life will be held on January 4th, 2025, at the Heritage Ranch in Bow from 1 to 5 ish. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be given to the foundation that will be set up in her memory to help care for animals in emergency care, as her love for animals was a defining part of who she was. Please contact Melissa or Christi at Lynden Veterinary Hospital 1919 Front St, Lynden, WA 98264. More information to come on this as it becomes available.
Rest in peace, Sierra and Phantom. You were loved more than words can express, and you will be deeply missed by all who knew you.
Sierra Rose Johnson was born on May 6th 1997.
