Magenta Wave
By Chloe Anne
Hailing from our backyard, Magenta Wave is a band with a vision that reaches far beyond local stages. Yet, despite their big dreams, their roots remain firmly planted in the community that helped shape them.
โWeโre at a point where weโd love to become financially independent through our music as soon as possible,โ one band member shares, speaking candidly about the realities of pursuing music full-time. Itโs a familiar challenge for many local artistsโbalancing day jobs while pouring heart and soul into their craft.
However, for Magenta Wave, itโs not just about making ends meet. Their passion lies in perfecting their sound and delivering unforgettable experiences. โLong term, we want to take our art to the highest level it can go, both in the studio and on stage,โ they explain, with a spark of excitement in their eyes. Whether itโs laying down tracks or performing live for a hometown crowd, the band is committed to growth in every way.
For Magenta Wave, one venue stands out as a true home: the Blue Room in Bellingham. โHaving played there eight times, weโve shared some of our most monumental performances with friends, fans, and family in that room,โ they say. โItโs a special space for us, and the owner, Martijn, is also a really close friend, which has made that component of our experience unique.โ Itโs clear the Blue Room isnโt just another stageโitโs where some of their most meaningful memories have been made.
Magenta Wave isnโt a short-term project or a casual side gigโitโs a lifelong journey. โWe started Magenta Wave with the intention of making it a lifelong project from day one,โ they say. โItโs exciting to think about how far our dedication can take us.โ
As they continue to play local shows and work on new music, Magenta Wave is a band to keep an eye on. Theyโre not just chasing dreamsโtheyโre building them, right here in our home state.
