Dick's Drive-In Food Truck
BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The iconic Dick’s Drive-In food truck is making another return to Bellingham this weekend, continuing a growing tradition of visits to Whatcom County that have consistently drawn long lines and strong community turnout.
Kulshan Brewing Company announced that the Dick’s Drive-In food truck will be at the Sunnyland Taproom on Saturday, May 23, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The visit is expected to once again bring crowds looking to grab the Seattle-area chain’s well-known burgers, fries, and shakes without having to travel south.
Over the past several years, Dick’s Drive-In has made multiple appearances across the Bellingham area through pop-up events and brewery partnerships. Previous visits have included stops at Kulshan Brewing locations, Lummi Bay Market, Lynden Thirsty Badger and other community-centered events that attracted residents from throughout Whatcom County and nearby areas in Skagit County.
Each time the truck has visited Bellingham, turnout has typically been significant, with customers lining up well before opening. The limited-time nature of the food truck appearances has helped turn the visits into highly anticipated local events, especially for longtime fans of the Seattle burger chain.
Dick’s Drive-In, which first opened in Seattle in 1954, has become one of the Pacific Northwest’s most recognizable fast food brands. While the company has expanded in recent years with new permanent restaurant locations in the Puget Sound region, Bellingham still does not have a brick-and-mortar Dick’s Drive-In restaurant, making the food truck visits especially popular among local residents.
Saturday’s appearance at Kulshan Brewing’s Sunnyland location is expected to operate while supplies last. Organizers are encouraging people to arrive early due to expected demand.
