BELLINGHAM, WA – The Bellingham Police Department (BPD) has detected unauthorized radio transmissions on their primary dispatch frequency, prompting officials to issue a formal warning. The breach, which was identified earlier today, led authorities to swiftly move all radio communications to an alternate channel, BPD 2, to ensure operational security and officer safety.
According to emergency dispatch sources, the unauthorized transmissions were interfering with critical police communications. In response, dispatchers issued a warning advising the unauthorized party to cease transmissions immediately. WhatComm has since issued a second warning to unauthorized persons using law enforcement frequencies.
This incident highlights the importance of secure communication channels for law enforcement agencies and the potential risks posed by unauthorized interference.
