BELLINGHAM, WA (BMN) — A new Chick-fil-A location is set to open in Bellingham later this month, marking the brand’s next expansion into the Northwest Washington region.
According to information provided directly to Bellingham Metro News from Chick-fil-A via email, the restaurant will officially open its doors on Thursday, April 30, at 4030 Cordata Parkway. The location, known as Chick-fil-A Cordata Parkway, will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with its drive-thru remaining open until 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Opening day will include a promotional event for the community, where guests who arrive dressed in cow print attire may receive one free entrée or a kid’s meal, part of the company’s long-running “Eat Mor Chikin” campaign tied to its cow-themed branding.
The Bellingham location will be locally owned and operated by Shelby Richie, who began her career with the company as a team member. Over time, she completed the Chick-fil-A Leadership Development Program, gaining experience at locations across the country before being selected as an owner-operator. Richie described her connection to the brand as longstanding, sharing that visits to a local restaurant were a regular part of her upbringing and continued through her college years. She noted that while the food played a role in that connection, it was the people and sense of community that ultimately shaped her decision to pursue a career with the company.
As part of the grand opening, the restaurant will host a “Moove-In Party,” inviting residents to take part in the celebration. The event is designed to introduce the business to the community while leaning into the brand’s recognizable marketing style.
The company also announced a community contribution tied to the opening. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts through Food Lifeline, which serves as a regional food bank partner. In addition, the new location is expected to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which helps redirect surplus food to local organizations in need.
The arrival of Chick-fil-A in Bellingham has been anticipated for some time, as the brand continues to expand its footprint across Washington state. With its opening later this month, the Cordata Parkway location is expected to draw significant attention from both longtime fans of the chain and residents curious about its debut in the local market.
Since the beginning, Bellingham Metro News has followed this project closely and was first to report on it when Chick-fil-A submitted its initial pre-application to the City of Bellingham more than three years ago.
This location will be CFA’s first-ever standalone Whatcom location—the chain once operated an express location at Western Washington University over a decade ago.
